MB-D10 knock-offs?

I've been watching some MB-D10's on e*** and noticed that in some photos the box appears to be gold over black, and others black over gold (not sure they are still listed). What colour scheme is the genuine box? I wonder if some of them might be knock-offs from a certain major state....

Mines mostly black, with some gold, if that helps!?

If I had to buy another one, I'd go for a 'knock-off' one anyway, as the (Meike brand) ones I've used are almost as good as the real thing and much more sensibly priced. Just my $0.02 :|.

Absolutely no issue on my tripods, and its been out in pretty bad rain and its fine.

Its actually a better fit then the genuine one I had for my D200.
 
MeiKi for £42 is worth every penny for what it does.
Had it for a while, no issues here:thumbs:
 
How's the vertical shutter button on the third party one? I use to have one for D5000 and i have to plug a chord to the GPS for the vertical shutter.

I guess maybe because the D5000 wasn't design to have a grip so thats why the third party grip have to do it this way?

Either way my experience with Meiki grip is good and no problem. Altho i sold the grip along with the camera.
 
I too use a Meike grip on my camera and have had no problems at all with it. Fantastic grip at a reduced price. Alright the quality and materials may be different but I have used it for over a year now and it is still as good as the day I bought it! :)
 
it made me feel like i shouldn't buy the original nikon grip now for my D7000 ....... lol

I was wondering why the battery grip cost £300-350 in UK where i bought the same grip from Malaysia for £135 free postage and duty tax is £13. Worked out to be very cheap compare to UK price even with the tax on top lol.
 
I wonder about the sensitivity of the shutter release on the Nikon vs Meike grips. I often shoot with the FPS set to high, but fire only one shot at a time - I find this quite easy to do on the D700. But I'd read that someone felt the Meike vertical shutter release was actually better than the Nikon in this respect, as with the Nikon it often let a few frames slip through, and it was tricky to release a single frame with FPS on high. What do users of either / both grips feel about this?
 
in my experience with Meiki in the pass is that nikon shutter button is squishy feeling so it fire a few shots by mistake sometimes. The Meiki vertical shutton is like the Canon shutton button?

It was like that on my D5000 Meiki grip.
 
i don't know how to describe the canon shutter button, it feels weird to me but thats just me getting use to nikon and like nikon .......

It may not be like that on all Meiki Grip, so someone with the same grip you planning to buy can give you a definate answer.
 
Just ordered a Meike of e***

And noticed that Meike do a cable shutter release - for Five Pounds! - so will have a punt.
