megapixel qusetion

The D40 upwards will take a world class shots in the right hands, or even by accident!
....It doesn’t really matter where you start, simple cameras can easily be more rewarding than fantastic ones, ..like their sophisticated nature can often overwhelm the user and inevitably that will hinder photographic growth.

The photography will be down to you and not the camera anyway...

Its a bit like motorcycles, newbie’s buying huge sports bikes as soon as they can will never appreciate or reach the limits found much more easily on smaller bikes ...so they have less fun, learn less and get overtaken a lot in the corners by the more experienced guys on smaller bikes....

Yeah I agree I don't want to caught up in getting over techi to start with.

I understand were your coming from with the bikes too. I've been into bikes for most of my life and had my fair share of superbikes, currently ride a 1991 750m slingshot (in blue of course) :0)

I have just bought a D70 again after having a D80, D90 and then a D300. Not 100% through choice but it will tide me over until I can afford a nice D300 again..
