I love #2, the green leaf really complements the colour of the fly. For me, the purple flower detracts slightly. Excellent technique, and spot on exposure with the flash!

Thank you Mark. It's nice to see different reactions to these shots as elsewhere, someone preferred the flower one to the leaf one. I have to say I do prefer the leaf one myself as it does provide a nice simplistic background colour to allow the fly to really stand out
