Memory card CF help

Please help.

I have a lexar 800x 120mb and a sandisc 30mbbut they both seem to be identical in speed in my 7d.

Also my 7d dosent seem to take many photos in a second it does 3 max..... And ideas???

How are you measuring the speed between cards?

Just with the amount of ***** it takes in one hit, on large raw files it takes 4 photos in one hit.........

Do you get the boxes with the small H in the drive mode? If so what shutter speed are you using?

The buffer in your camera is more importat when in high speed mode. Once the buffer is full (after about 16 shots or so) then the card's speed will have more of an affect as it's writing to clear the buffer

Card speed has zero effect on the frame rate until the buffer fills (which is 25 raw images and loads of jpegs).

David, Your slow frame rate is probably because you got something like ALO switched on.
