memory card for g7and 4k?

I use SanDisk Extreme cards in my G7 which are Class 10, U3, with a speed of 60MB/s. The package card is branded as 4K compatible. These cards are sold in Tesco for around £20 for 32 GB from if I remember correctly. Probably cheaper on Amazon or Ebay but there are fakes out in the wild, so a reputable supplier is needed. As my G7 is so new to me and the weather has been so poor (GH3 weather), I've yet to try out 4K video but have tried 4K photos with no card write problems.

Thanks Harvey, will have a look for them. How are you finding the camera otherwise?
 
I love the camera, it has a really good EVF and the twin dials make handling easier than my older G5. I've even used it in the studio with their single pin flash remote, generally no need to chimp the rear screen once exposure is set, everything can all be checked using the EVF before a half shutter press returns to a live view. I especially like the centre button on the rear dial which I use for ISO changes, again easy to find while still looking through the EVF and ISO 100 is available as an extended ISO but with no quality penalty. It is necessary to turn off the live preview for studio work. I also have a GH3 and previously thought that I would likely upgrade to the GH4, but the G7 does everything I might need from the GH4, so the G7 and GH3 are ideal companions. For the last couple of years I have been using a Canon 5D2 for studio work, but recently now use the GH3 and G7 instead, as the elderly Canon lens focus accuracy likes to wander away from my chosen focal point, despite adjustment, it needs a decent new lens really.

A couple of minor issues, my versions of Lightroom and Photoshop Elements do not accept G7 RAW files, I need to use the DNG Converter. No battery grip is currently available for the G7, but my spare G5 battery is identical. I don't have anything which will natively edit 4K video or downscale it to 1080P and I don't have any screen that can display above 1080P. There is no native wireless off camera TTL flash capability (only optical), but my Youngnuo 622Cs do work on the GH3 for manual wireless flash, the G7 should be the same but I haven't tried it yet.
 
I use Sandisk or Lexar cards and no issues and certainly recommend them.

Just make sure you buy from a reputable source as there are unfortunately fakes out there...

Sounds good, miss my g5, a cracking camera that was. I very nearly caved in and swapped to a gh4 from canon, (focus issues....) The g7 is for my daughter, but will want to be giving it ago when she's not using it :naughty: I fancy a nice portrait lens again, and I'm tempted to go down the m43 route rather than one for my canon.
