Memory cards and External hard drives?

Hi guys,

I have built up a small collection of about 5 memory cards. I was just wandering how people store there photo's? eg, PC, external hard drives (if so which one).

Im looking to get an external hard drive as my laptop isnt fantastic and wouldnt trust it as a sole source of storage. Any advice would be grand!

I bought a couple of 1TB drives from PC world at about £60 each. Easy and simple but can be bought cheaper on-line but I'd stick to buying from a shop as I don't trust on-line much! :suspect:
 
From camera to my laptop hdd via ViewNX then,
back up to NAS (Network Attached Storage - basically a 1tb hard drive with wifi access)
further automated backup from the NAS to a second 1tb hdd connected to the NAS by usb.

It's not foolproof, but it seems to work until I can afford a NAS with a built in blu-ray writer ;)

Agreed. This is what I do but go a step further and keep one either at work or in the car so that, in the event of theft or fire, you still have a copy of your data.
