Class 10 cards are generally regarded as the best for DSLR's. They have fast read and write speeds and dedicated photo recovery facilities. For these features, you pay.
Yes, they are worth it. But, if you buy one 16GB card that is class 10 and 30mb/s and consider another which is exactly the same but is £30-50 more. Just go for the cheaper one. Amazon have some fantastic deals on at the moment for Class 10 cards from Samsung.
