I am looking to get a new memory card for my Canon 400d. Just wanted to know what the difference is in speed. For example the Kingston 16G CF card say 133X, where as Lexar do a 300x. Is there a big difference?
I don't think you camera can take advantage of the 300x write speed of the Lexar card. If you have a fast card reader then you may see soe advantage downloading the images.
I just checked the Rob Galbraith CF data base and it looks like the fastest card is the SanDisk Extreeme III. Not much point forking out for the faster card as you wont see any advantage in the camera.
I would also think about going for multiple lower capacity cards, might save some money, plus not putting all your eggs in one basket.
