Hi, I am new to this forum and am looking forward to gaining all sorts of information. My first question, b eing new to Digital Photography relates to memory cards. I have an Olympus E520 which takes XD and CF cards, which is best and what is recommended. Thanks
 
XDs are more expensive and harder to find - they may also be slower and smaller capacity than the current CF cards. I think their only advantage is that they help with aligning shots for panoramas (read the manual). So I'd recommend going with CF.

(Sorry if I am slightly vague - my OH got a e410 a couple of years ago and as I remember this is what he found.)
 
Yes, I would also suggest going with CF cards, purely so that if you upgrade later you can keep the CF cards as they are used by most brands and most cameras.
