Received my 1st metallic finish print from the printers today and I'm well chuffed with it.

It does cost a bit more but I think it's worth it! The whole thing just 'shines' all over!

I keep going back and having a look at it. :D

Quick question, do they just frame up as normal or is there anything special I should know?

Nice!

I don't suppose you could take a photo of the surface to give an idea of the finish? I've been looking at different types of printing recently for a show. Loxley?

you only really notice the "metalic" effect if you look at it at an angle but it does give a greater depth and richness to the print.
Cheers Paul

I don't think it would show up in a piccy. Yep it was Loxley Colour in Glasgow, superb service!

It's not a great subject, a house, but the sky is blue and the lawn is green and manicured, it would have looked great in normal gloss but this metallic finish just sets it off.

I'm looking into various ways of adding some specialism into the products on offer and this is one of them.

I love metallic prints and use them at every opportunity and as diggerz says the finish gives a wonderful depth to the image.

So it changes the colour of a print slightly? And seems a little glossier than a fuji crystal archive gloss?

I might need to just order one and see what its like..

Funnily enuf, I had a print order came in yesterday as I was leaving the house to drop a friend off in Edinburgh. I copied the file onto a pen drive and had it printed at a shop next to the old Odeon Cinema in Clerk Street.

Superb job and it was on Fuji Crystal Supreme Gloss, first time I had seen it and it is very glossy!

but not as GLOSSY as the met finish!

I might add it is a 24x16

I've just ordered 2 12 x 8 inch metallic prints from them- see how they come back, I guess.

I think that makes for 4 different types of print from 4 different printers for me today.. not bad for a wednesday.
