metering query

Anyone suggest best 'metering mode' on a Canon 5D Mk1, I've a choice of four metering modes, not too sure which one is best for most situations;

evaluate - partial - spot - centre weighted

There isn't a best for all use, but there is a best for individual situations.

In honesty I use evaluative 90% of the time when I'm working with semi auto settings, however that is pretty rare as nearly always I'm shooting in manual.
