using a 18% grey card. how do you lock the exspodure setting on a canon 60d
You press "Exposure Lock" button on the back. The one marked with "*"
is there away to lock it for a period of time instead of before every time i take a pic
isnt that spot metering
is there away to lock it for a period of time instead of before every time i take a pic
so i have to keep using it in manual

One day your a pro, and the next day you don't even know what a Manual mode is used for

Thats the charitable explanation :bang:
Incidentally what are you planning on using the 18% grey card for ? - it won't guarantee a well exposed shot in all circumstances - particularly not if we are dealing with girls wearing big white dresses.

It will, if you use it properly - particularly for girls wearing big white dresses![]()
Isn't that for setting custom WB rather than exposure metering? If its like the 600d (and I think it is) the setting is in your menu panel. About the third one from the left.
You just open the setting in the menu after taking pic, select the pic and then confirm selection. Doing it this way you dont have to set it for each shoot, it will be held until you change it of turn off your slr. Of course you change it as your lighting changes.
