Micro SD with adaptor?

Silly question - I haven't used SD cards since 2002. Things have moved on a bit since then, and there are all these micro SD cards which seem to have the same spec as SDHC, yet appear cheaper. Are there any disadvantages with using microSD with an adaptor in DSLR? Are there any reliability/durability issues compared? I know SD cards aren't all that durable in the first place anyway, so just wanted to check.

I have used micro sd with adapter in both D90 and D800 with no issues. Worked just as if it was SD card. Speed of card seemed unaffected. Can't comment on reliability as I haven't ever had one fail.
