Mifi v iphone 4s....

Ok, at the moment I have a 3 mifi that I use for my ipad or mbp when I'm out and about and very good it is too, my question is though, 3 are offering "all you can eat" data with their iPhone 4s package, would this be a good replacement for the mifi or would I be better with a cheaper iphone contract (perhaps on a different network) and keeping the mifi?

I guess it depends on how much you are prepared to carry around. Our guys a work who previously had mifi's have got tethering added to their iPhones and say it I'd just as easy to use.

On the other hand if connection is mission critical it may be better to have 2 different networks available...

That's a good point, I notice, for example, that I can barely get an 02 phone signal in the house, but the 3 mifi is excellent, but drive up the road a bit to the local supermarket carpark and there's no 3 signal, but 02 works....

Yep. Check with your provider if tethering is allowed before you decide.

The girl in the 3 store said it did, but then she was trying to flog me an expensive phone on a 24 month contract, so she would say that (without it being in writing) wouldn't she?

Having said that, I'm sure I read somewhere that tethering was allowed on their contracts, will need to investigate further.....

An advert in todays Metro from 3 for a 24month plan which is £18pm says "tethering yourphone to use as a modem with your laptop is excluded from this deal"

It does say "all the internet you'll ever need".

Yeah, I checked and it's only on the One Plan that tethering is included...
