Yes , thats I was thinking of, I guess you prefer the first

I like both, just went with the thirds rule on the first one.

The second was actually the first one I processed, so I guess I probably thought it was the better image initially.

Its interesting that you allowed the rule of thirds to sway your choice against your first feelings. I was at an photography event held at a local nature reserve and the pro photographer there said that he did not hold with this rule of composition in every case.
