Yes
I need a mini cheap cause they are cheap and easy to carry. Main uses are mostly for my camera 500d with a 75-300 USM while sitting in a bunker watching birds to hold it a bit steady . Figure always cheaper then buying the 75-300 IS USM

Seen some at amazon but says not if they are for compacts or dslr

Thanks for any guidance :)

We really need some kind of budget!

The legs are adjustable from 670mm to 1500mm, folded hight is 730mm, about 2ft 5in to give you some idea.
And thats NOT a Manfrotto!!

yeah I call it bunker cause it looks like those ww2 british gun outposts all over the country

I thought so!!
For the car you need THIS I have one and it works great!
A mini tripod if you must HERE
But for a hide I reccomend a hide clamp like THIS
I have THIS one and can't reccomend it too highly!! (it's good) and use it for many other situations out of the hide!

car is right on target. Looks awesome :)

the 2nd one i liked for the hide and take around but wasnt sure if it takes dslr

the 3rd I really cant fgure against what am i gonna stick it

Cheers for the help

If you want a mini tripod have you thought about a joby gorillapod?

Well the clamp goes on the shelf in the bird hide (where you normally rest your elbows!!) (it does have a shelf?) then your camera goes on the other end. The two clamping options are for different hight shelves! Easy!!

the Giotto is a nice looking one but the Joby is a wobbly thing doubt will help me with my lack of IS lens

The Giottos GB1060 is solid. Bargain at £25.00 all in. Very sturdy. I use it for low shots and have had my D3 & 24-70 on it. Small enough to throw into a rucksack.

Chris :)

YEAH GUESS IT CAN WORK

I use a Velbon mini cx with my 50D, its very sturdy and folds down small enough to fit in my back back. I got mine from Jessops for £20.

Highly recommended by me :D

I like this little fellow for use in a bird hide - http://www.morrisphoto.co.uk/ProductDetails~man~Velbon~productID~7494~categoryid~178.html. I've used it with a gripped 50D and 100-400 lens with teleconverter and found it to be easily up to the job. Here it is at minimum height with my 7D and 1-4.....

I've got a "real" one. Including head it cost £375 and it's not a Gitzo either, but it won't fit in my pocket and it's a PITA in a hide.

Yeh, know what you mean! I took my Manfrotto to my first visit at a hide and quickly put it away again! Thats why I bought the Opticron, and the Cullmann, and the Velbon and.....must stop buying gear!!!
