Just one light, positioned far off to either the left or right but not pointing directly at the subject more across.

Settings iso400, f2.8 to f4, 1/60th +2/3rd ev using Shutter Priority, photographed against a backdrop of a roll of black sticky-backed plastic.

Thanks everyone, it was just a pure play about with props (£1 whisk and £4 roll of sticky backed plastic) and just to see how minimal a whisk can be. The shallow depth of field gave some unusual bokeh.. but was all shot on a tripod.

My main aim was just to see how far you could take a normal everyday item and reduce i down to it's minimum

Thanks Mark, well it certainly worked then, I do like to try to takes things to their minimum,it's intersting what you can come up with.....
