minimum nikon camera for stock photography

Any suggestions as to the starting point for shooting stock photographs (mainly landscapes and architecture) in respect of a Nikon.

In a recent mag it was suggested the Canon 5D was a minimum which is a lot more affordable (to me)than a D3 or D3X. I am a nikon owner but wonder if I need to change. It's also been suggested elsewhere that scanned medium format trannies are no longer acceptable.

Your thoughts please

stock? depends on the resolution they require tbh.

Surely all you really need is a tripod, an entry level dslr (d3000, d60, d40x) and a wide angle lens? Maybe a filter or two.

As far as I know, there isn't a 'minimum camera' requirement. There's often a minimum resolution requirement, but if the original is good and sharp, an image can often be upsized and maintain quality. I've got photos up on Alamy taken with my 450D and increased in resolution using photoshop.

Alamy has a recommended list of digital models, and an unsuitable list.. Getty are very specific about the cameras they approve for submissions.

Have you tried looking at any of the stock sites and checked for lists?
