minolta 50mm variations?

I used to have a A200 as my first DSLR was great for price anyhow i used to go to http://www.dyxum.com/lenses/index.asp for reviews on lenses and whats compatible with Sony mount i had a Minolta 50mm F1.7 i think it was ..very good lens check though on the site first wouldn't like me to have got mixed up ! :lol:
 
Dyxum is a good site.

Just beware of the minoltas leaking oil. I just had to get one repaired at a cost of £40. This on top of the cost of the lens meant it was more expensive than my new Sony f1.8.
 
afaik optically they are the same.
the 50/1.7 is OK but I wouldn't rave about it - after all it was the kit lens of it's day.
