Minolta Rokkor on A200

Ok so I keep finding conflicting information everywhere so thought I may as well just as you guys!

I know the Minolta AF lens' fit the Alphas, but I have seen a few people saying they are using these Rokkor lens' and they seem quite well priced, theres a few 50mm primes on ebay for under £30 :o

Will it fit? I assume the AF won't work, which won't bother me as I prefer to MF anyway. Will I need an adapter? If so which one?

I have Rokkor 28mm f2.8, 55mm f1.7 and 135mm f3.5 lenses which I use on my Panny G1 and all seem to be good especially the 55mm.

I decided not to use these lenses on my 5D as the adapter needs a glass element to achieve focus to infinity and I was worried about this causing a drop in image quality. Looking at the pictures of the Rokkor to Alpha adapter it looks like it has a glass element in it so I suppose you face the same decision I did... will this degrade image quality?

You could go for legacy lenses which don't need an additional lens in the adapter. I had a quick look at ebay and it looks like the Olympus Zuiko to Alpha adapter is just a hunk of metal so that could be a way to go if you're worried about the Rokkor adapter degrading image quality.

I don't think it would degrade the image quality enough to bother me if I'm honest, it's the price for me, I will never pay a fortune for lenses as there is no return on investment for me! :thumbsdown:
 
OK, it's just something to think about and the Zuiko lenses can be had for about the same price as the Rokkors. I have Zuiko 28mm f2.8, 50mm f1.8 and 135mm f3.5 and to be honest they give pretty much the same image quality as the Rokkors. I couldn't really choose one over the other just on image quality.
