Here are three compositions from this visit. Not the best light but what a spot to be in and see.

What a place! Can you walk up the gorge? The third pic for me, though I can't give a good reason why.

What a place! Can you walk up the gorge?

Not easily - there would a hell of a walk to get to the starting point and a very steep climb down. Basically you drive to the end of a road and take a mid level path to get to where I took these. After this it's a straight vertical drop. To approach in from another direction could take ages. From a photography perspective you'd lose the view.

Another way might be able to approach from Escuain (I know you know the area) but again - big drop at some point to get down. I know because I tried it two years back.

The third pic for me, though I can't give a good reason why.

I can think - you feel the "drop" more and that little drop of shadow at the bottom adds more depth. I am going to do a proper sunrise here when I am back. If you see the blog you can see I got the dream conditions in Pineta....

Steve your 'think' about the third is absolutely right. It really has more (visual) depth.
