Miss calabrated katz eye?

I have just received and installed my katzeye on my D60! Its a wonderful screen, however it appears to be a tiny miss calibration from the katzeye.

I had been using the D60's range finder before installing the screen when the range finder tells me I'm in position, the katzeye is off by a small amount, This is barely noticeable for focusing on far objects but is quite problematic with close up objects.

Is there a way of calibrating the camera?

Many thanks

Stuart

Are you able to confirm that the green dot is giving the gospel truth? It's usually tolerant of minor misfocusing. It's also easy to be a bit off when eyeballing it given the DOF through the viewfinder is deeper than that of a wide lens. If you kept the shims in the camera when you replaced the screen you shouldn't be far out, but it is possible.

Stu,

You may need to play with the shims a little. Logic would tell me that a back focussing screen needs more shimming and a front focus requires some to be removed.

Worth having a read of this

Cheers Guys

I am a little busy just now but I have just had an email from Rachel Katz with a large essay that will address my problem! :D

But it will have to wait until tomorrow. Cheers for the replys

Just an update.

There is a 2mm allen key head just behind the main mirror (I've know idea what that small mirror does!)

I think my camera has come out the factory miss aligned. After a bit of wiggling the screw about my katzeye is now in perfect alignment. :D

The small mirror diverts the light down to the AF sensors.
