I was recently listening to one of the YouTubers I follow and he made an statement that I latched onto, "You can't photograph it unless you see it!".
Blindingly obvious of course but a good reminder for the many times that I am out and just don't seem to come back with anything worth keeping - like this morning.

However the statement can be turned on its head, i.e. "It's no good seeing it and not photographing it!".
This morning was a washout but I did see the shot - problem was I looked and had a friendly exchange but I missed the moment to take the photo.
I've done this sort of thing several times and it is really annoying - come home thinking, 'if only I had paid attention to what I was doing'!

Tell me it happens to you too.

all the time, for many reasons...

The most frustrating

Forgot to wind on the camera and see the shot, go to press the button...then nothing... not wound the film on

Of course it does, and I should imagine it happens to every photographer at one time or another.

"One of my own failings is seeing something or other and not realising there's a pic' there to be had, pretty much the same as most photographers I should think"
