Missing EXIF Data

[CruisingComet]

I frequently look at the EXIF data of photo's here as I'm intrested in how the shots were taken, but I've noticed that alot of the photos posted are missing the EXIF data, just curious as to why so many shots posted are missing this information which incidently helps beginers / novices like myself ?

Just curious as to why people remove it?

Just a guess but it could be that some people use the "Save for web" option in PhotoShop (and Elements) which automatically strips out the EXIF data to reduce the final file size.

Thanks for that Nod

Didn't realise that, It's a shame as it's helpful to read the data

For some reason when I upload to flickr it removes the exif from the fille, but if you click on the photos it goes to the page which has the exif next to it.... I might see if I can stop that from happening though, because it can be really useful!

I only found this out the other day so I now "save as" so it leaves EXIF intact.

Sorry to hijack this..but how do you view EXIF data of other peoples' photographs on here? I use firefox..if that makes any difference.
