misting inside a lens...

Hi All,

Just a quick question as I know very little about how lenses are put together etc.
I took my samyang fisheye out for the first time today and when I first took it out to shoot I noticed the center of each shot was misted.

After about 10 mins is seemed to clear ok, but is this normal?
I can understand misting on the OUTSIDE of the lens but not sure I like the idea of it inside?!
 
so you took it from a warm house to outside in the cold then, if so yes, when you go from outside to inside i always carry a big ziplock bag with silica gel in then put it in there andseal it before i go in the leave on side to come back up to room temprature, just open the zip slightly after a while.
never leave them in a bag if you have been out in cold always take them out when they have warmed to room temp and leave to air out.

Brill, I had read that trick but wasn't sure if it just applied to misting on the outside of the lens!

Also, unsealed lenses can get moisture inside, the lens will then mist up as the water slowly evaporates.

I had this once with a Canon 55-250, after a soaking wet shoot in snowdonia (after someone left my bag open!) but it cleared after a few hours sat in the open warm air and was fine ever since.
