Modifying batteries for DC input

Hi,

I have an olympus PEN E-P1 and would like to try some time-lapse photography but it doesn't have a DC input. Does anyone have any experience or links showing how I might be able to modify an existing battery to accept a DC adaptor?

I have already checked that the camera works with the battery door open.

Its a bit of a risky mod to do, could fry the power circuit if your not careful. I you were to do it you wouldnt mod a battery you would create a dummy battery instead. Iv done it to power flash guns off SLA batteries.

Safer option would be to just swap to a charged batterie when you need to.
 
Crack open the battery caseing, remove the Li-Ion battery and connect your DC source to the terminals inside the case. cut a hole for the cable to come out of the casing.

DO NOT try and solder or pierce/cut the Li-Ion battery inside the plastic casing. just cut off the terminals.

Thanks both, very helpful. I will have a go and try and post pics

The tripod I am using blocks the battery door / the battery might run out overnight hence my desire to not use batteries.
