Hi All,

Took this yesterday with Molly with my studio kit but the flamin muslin background I have bought is proving to be a nightmare. Spent over an hour ironing it and still its full of creases as you can see.

What technique can I use in photoshop to smooth the creases out?

Also where can I buy strong paper rolls so i don't have to use the muslin backgound or anything else you can suggest.

Thanks for your help as always.

I would try:
a) move (gorgeous) Molly forward so the background is more OOF
b) extra light(s) on the background to swamp the shadows

Hi Philip - how's this?

Open image
Duplicate image (ctrl+J)
Image->Adjustments->Replace Colour
Drag the dropper across all the background with the shift key held down
Slide Lighness control up to 100%
Click on Layer 1 & use Eraser to paint Molly back in.
That's in PS7 - other apps do similar things...

Looks like the exposure on the background is similar to Molly? If you have a flash / softbox / brolly spare, increase the exposure on the background so it's blown out.

Easier in the long run if you have loads of pics to edit.

Hope you dont mind me having a play as well.
I think I may have overdone it in trying to eliminate some of the shadowing but I found them unflattering for her gorgeous little face ... did you have lights on both sides or just the one?

Warehouse Express sell the paper rolls.
Also, you could consider the Hilite which gives a nice evenly lit white bg without any faffing, then folds up like a reflector when your finished.

Hi InaGlo, I use 2 lights on the same side.

Thanks for the info on the paper rolls and Hilite. Will check out Warehouse Express later.

Just had this one printed out and really liked it. Thought I would share it with you guys.:)
