Bought a LCD protector thing for my D3 recently. Waited for 1 week before it arrive but only lasted 2 sec and is my fault as well.

I did not align the protector probably after is on the lcd, so I i brutal force it to took the cover off but the cover is shutter. thank god the LCD display is ok without a scratch.

I think I will just leave it without the protector.
 
For future reference:

Get a piece of cotton and start at one corner and use a sawing action to remove/lift the screen protector, then clean up adhesive residue with IPA. I pressume you had a GGS type protector if it was difficult to remove.
 
Yeah it was one of them where you have to peer off the sticky thing and stick it on the LCD. It wasn't on long enough to stick too hard so I just force it to peer off but the protector shuttered in half with bits.

Not sure if i wanted to put one on if is pain to remove. Probably just use it without one, alot of my friend shoot with canon DSLR and they don't use one.
 
If you want a cheap option and what I have done in the past, is buy a Ipad screen protector from your local Home Bargains / Poundshop and cut the protector to size.

I like to use them, as where I store my camera in my desk drawer, there are some screw protectors over the handle screws and I scuffed my Xpro1 once when removing camera from drawer.

I use http://www.expertshielduk.com on cameras, iPhone and iPad. They are flexible and do not use glue to stay attached so you can take them off, wash them (if you need to) and reposition them.
 
I tried one once,but put the wrong part on,the sticky part fell on the carpet and collected a load dust and bits from the floor :oops: :$
 
I never bother anymore with screen protectors of lens filters, the protection kind
 
Not used one on my D3 since new, six years ago and the screen is pretty damn robust, so I wouldn't worry. Not scratched or damaged and the worst thing it seems to have is fingerprints.
