Monitor calibration question

I posted this just now in Canon Bob's monitor calibration thread, but then thought that most people would not look there for a question as it's mostly people adding their names to the loan list :bonk:

I thought that the on screen instructions then told you not to alter the screen settings after it had finished?

I ran through the procedure, made a note of the colour sttings that I'd got and left it at that.

I'll have a look at the profile file later (diff machine) and see what is in it - I assume they are text readable?

Correct, it did say that. Which leaves me wondering about the brightness, contrast and gamma as they are still just at the default settings of 100, 70 and 0 respectively.
