Monitor calibration reccomendations?

I just got my new Dell u2711 working and need to get it looking correct as its very different from my old dell 24 which is next to it.

I have windows 7 64bit and was wondering whats a cheap option that I should look for on ebay.

Any suggestions?

Secondhand Eye One Display2 usually round £80 but rare to find. New they are about £150. I believe they are the best out of the cheaper end of the market.
After that you're into £300 upwards territory.

You could of course do it by eye for no cost but I feel it's an important part of digital photography and worth the investment. Depends on the value you place on getting the right colours printed.
 
might have to try and find one thanks guys.

Whats the best way to do it through the monitor? Ive been trying to mess around with the red green blue and cant get it close.
 
The only way you will know your monitor is calibrated is if you use a hardware device such as an EyeOne or a Spyder.
