Going to have to ask this in here as I am stumped..

Have a calibrated 22" TFT monitor (ADVENT something or other) - calibrated with a Spyder express thingy.........

Also have the student / teacher version of CS5 via bro-in-law who is a teacher.......

On the calibrated monitor - the blown background looks perfect (unless I kneel on the floor and look up at it........)

On Wifes Acer laptop, on an Acer netbook, and even on an iphone there are obviously some flaws with the "ironing out the creases in the background" tool in Photoshop...;)

So printed it off, and it looks fine....... no hints of shoddy background above B'maid and to her left.........

Don't think I have had the problem before.......:shrug:

So what has happened?
 
Lynton have you got the latest Spyder software.

There's been a new release recently thats a vast improvement. It includes a procedure for setting Brightness ( Backlight output ) and Contrast on your monitor.

It could be that although your monitors are colour matched they aren't for brightness.

I can see the creases on my uncalibrated lappy. I can't check on my main pc as I just turned it off LOL.

It would be worth updating the spyder software and recalibrating both screens.

erm no.........:shrug:

When the sypder thingy comes back from its brief holiday oop north, I shall download and try again..........:shrug:

It seems that everything calibrated it looks ok on, but anything uncalibrated it looks a bit.. erm. crap! :lol::shrug:


hmmmmmmmmm, back to the drawing board.
 
Hit the factory reset button on all your monitors, it will look crap on them all.

no worries Dean............. I am merely perplexed as to how i cannot see things on a calibrated monitor, but i can on uncal ones...........
