Monitor going to sleep ?

I decided to give my PC a dust clean with a "Air Duster", after reconnecting all the cables and a restart, all was going well, rebooting etc, but after a while the monitor went in to stand by, giving the following, Monitor is going to sleep, as it does. I cannot get it to stay on, each time on a restart it just goes into stand by.

any ideas please.............
 
have you checked if the sleep key is stuck down?, may have stuck after dusting it
 
it is usually located on the top line of keys and may have a half moon picture on it. although i dont know if all pc's have them but my 2 do

I have pressed the halfmoon key on the key board, nothing is happening, restarted, still the same message..

Is it possible i have done something to the card in the tower?.
 
ok the only other thing i can suggest is to check your power options in the control panel. other than i cant help you sorry. maybe someone else on here might have the answer. good luck

Well problem is, i cannot view the control panel as the screen will not keep on..thanks for the efforts,

Has the monitor got a menu button. If so, pressing this will bring it out of sleep and you should be able to reset sleep times from here.

Thanks HM, yes has a menu button on the screen, press it and it jsut comes up into working mode then seconds later it goes back as monitor going to sleep.

Update, thanks all, had to replace the card in the end...
