Monitor Help!

Just installed a new monitor which has a native resolution of 2560 x 1440. I have an ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO which appears to support this resolution. However the screen is garbled if I select 2560 x 1440. Best I can get is 1920 x 1200 which does not look right either but workable. I'm on Windoes XP - I have checked and installed latest drivers for both the monitor and the card.

Any ideas? Thanks.
 
i take it you have also tried using the auto adjust on monitor when changing to the native resolution. Which monitor is it. I know when researching my monitors Dell U2311H some reviews statesd the the supplied profiles where not worththe disc they came on.
 
Sorted. I connected the monitor using the cable which was already connected to the computer from the previous monitor. I needed a dual DVI cable - which, of course, was supplied with the monitor! :bang: It's an NEC PA271W.
 
Are you connected by DVI or VGA?

This from AMD site talks about dual DVI needed (whatever that is?)....
