I'm looking for a monopod that will stand freely to double up as a stand to hold a speedlight with flashbender, or a tall lightweight light stand that I could also hold up high with a speedlight etc attached.....Something like a Manfrotto 682b, but half the price hopefully. Does anyone have any ideas?

Just searched google for "Self standing Monopod" - appears to be different options about, but a lot are coming up as the Manfrotto 682B. Could be worth paying the extra for ...

I use a Manfrotto 682B it's good as a monopod and has a screw out stand in the base.

It's pretty stable but only with lightish gear. If your using it just for lighting it'll probably be fine but long lenses say, over 200mm, and it will tend to be overbalanced.
