hi all
i'm off on a safari park trip this weekend (in the UK!) and thinking that a monopod might come in handy?

firstly, would i be right in thinking this... if so, can anyone recommend and entry level monopod. i'm tempted to just get the cheapest on offer at Jessops:

http://www.jessops.com/online.store/products/76297/show.html
or http://www.jessops.com/online.store/products/47096/show.html

would i need a monopod head like:
http://www.jessops.com/online.store/products/8306/show.html
or http://www.jessops.com/online.store/products/8307/show.html

actually, having just taken delivery of a Nikon 80-400, it's pretty heavy, so I'm thinking my answer is: yes i need one!

I appreciate you get what you pay for, but i really don't want to spend too much.. but equally, don't want the cheap option if a few extra quid is going to be a worthy investment.

any advice gratefully received!

The manfrotto Mn790B you have linked to can take a weight of upto 2kg..... For less money you can get this one Mn679 for the same price & holds upto 10kg's....

downside is I'm limited to what i can get on the high street, as I've not really planned properly! unless i can get guaranteed next day delivery online somewhere.
