There is a serious accident on our road, the air ambulance was there and paramedics cutting a 94 year old neighbour was being cut out of a car, I didnt realise it was someone I knew I have some photos of the emergency services round the crashed vehicles, do I let the local rag have them or not? Its with him being a neighbour thats worrying me cos he was a lovely old fella

As long as there are no shots of him, you could sell them to the local rag. All they are is reporting what happens, as long as you don't identify him, or leave anything that could identify him / his car.

But Julian, if you don't feel right about it, then don't send them in.

I was going to post on FB and ask why you were on here and not taking pictures.

Totally understand your dilemma, perhaps ask the Fire Service/Police if they want/need the photos? I know Essex Fire Service have a public even log and there are sometimes photos on there that they share with the local press.

As for approaching local press directly, my view would be pictures of the scene without explicitly showing the casualty would be acceptable.

I've seen plenty of pictures like this and it can help to illustrate the situation better.

Hope your neighbours comes out of this OK.

Definately no photos of any persons involved, just emergency services around the cars as they are cutting them to bits, nothing on them to identify anyone. I just feel bad now knowing it was someone I knew and liked.
