More flickr help please!

Hi all.
Anyone know why this happens?

Just started using the flickr upload tool to upload pictures 800X600 to post on the forum, and I'm losing a lot of quality.
If you look around my watermark, there's some odd blurring going on

That blurring is JPEG compression. Are you providing the tool with 800x600 versions or are you allowing it to convert them for you? It looks as though the tool is compressing them too much.

I'm getting the tool to do it for me.
Is this not good then I take it?!?!?!

If you are talking about the background , that looks like whats called "Banding"
It could be your method of conversion from RAW to JPEG , this sometimes happens to me if i use the Canon DPP software to convert from RAW to JPEG.

Only assurance is that I have printed up to and above A3 and there no evidence of it when printed. it only seems notable in the photos that are uploaded to a site.
