Tried a different set up for the goldies yesterday using the house as a background helped with some great light well pleased with these shots.

I like the colours, pose, and composition on these Elvis, and its always a lovely bird to photograph. The BG works for me. I do think that they are both looking marginally soft on the eye, but I am on a laptop so could be wrong, its not the best screen to judge by. Either way, two good shots

Two nicely posed and composed shots Elvis - however I have to agree with Trev regarding the slight softness in both images (especially compared with your earlier sharp shot)
Keep 'em coming, they are such photogenic birds!

Nice captures, I always find the silkiness of the Goldfinch feathers make it more difficult to gain detail
