Yes
Arranged with a couple of mates to take some pics of their bikes - got the idea to try out lightpainting so here goes!

These were shot inside a warehouse I have access to and lit with a torch.

C&C welcome on these:

Hundreds of years ago I used to race Yamahas....I'm drooling now....super shots. #1 takes the checkered flag.

Very nice indeed! Makes me think about how to get shots of my OH's fireblade.

Thanks all. no.1 was a single shot edited, the others were 2 shots blended (picking the best bits of each), though with no.4 the second shot was just exposed for the headlights.

Looks nice for a couple of R125's, the side profiles are the best as it hides the skinny tyres, but they are what they are I guess. Unsure of the livery on the blue one but fantastic photos :)

Yup, I think the light painting works great on these and not overdone. Very inspiring.

The first one works very well. Even light which shows enough to get your interest but not too much, nice work.

The others suffer from uneven light imo

Wow, those are fantastic. A friend of mine has asked me to do some shots of his bike. Providing we can find somewhere dark enough I may have to "borrow" some of those idea's.

Apart from the unnecessary crash bobbins on the bikes, I like these shots, they are well lit and look good.

I'd like to see what results you'd get with "real bikes"...leaves...lol

Lol well if anyone wants to lend me their 'real' bike for some shoots let me know! :)

torch was a small but powerful one. shutter speed around 20 seconds f22 minimum iso (no noise reduction applied).

I really like the first one. Black is not an easy colour to lightpaint but you have just enough highlights to pull it off (y)

I've got to admit, my Gixxer isn't quite as mint condition as those bikes!

No.1 is GREAT! I just tried some painting with light the other night but need to perfect it a few times.

You've done a brilliant job though.

Number 1 for me also, might have to get my torch out on my Blade and see what I can come up with...
Great job on all the photos though

Thanks ive got a similar shoot during the day today - this time with cars and with undercar lighting so il see how that goes 2 shots blended im thinking and maybe with more even lighting rather than shadowy style.

Could I barter for some shots of me with my knee down in some bends? ;)

Lovely shots, nicely done. (y)

The only crit I have is where the front wheel is keeled over which I find ugly and kinda ruins the bikes lines.

yes you can!

Forgot to come back to this and show some of these images. So here is one with the lighting fitted to the bikes:

This time I kept the light away from the decals to make the black bike a bit more stealthy looking.

Fantastic pics, really are unusual, going to give this a go on the Harley's. Great stuff!

can't pick a favourate, they're all good, nice work. I had an experience on the back of a bike like these once, I drive a supra ( http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=348484 ) which is a pretty fast car and this guy obviously wanted to show me what real speed is like so he gunned it  0-60 in 2 secs no helmet and i was hanging on to the back grips for dear life
