Mount Cutting

Hello,

been considering cuttnig my own mounts and as i have never done this was looking for some advice on the what equipment is needed? how easy is it? is it cost effective?

I use one of these

bought it from a fellow TP'er.

Really easy to use.

A few minutes practicing on scrap sorted the technique.

They do smaller cheaper versions but 2nd hand prices not bad.

I wanted one that could cut large mounts. I print in house uo to A3+ and sometimes want wide borders for signings by guests at events, so pays for itself.

Anything bigger I have an arrangement with a local framers.

Thanks for that link, looks like i could create the mounts cheaper than i thought, looks like a trip to hobbycraft to price it all up.

I use a Maped cutter for the mounts I do for my paintings, bought mine secondhand years ago, great investment. Checkout your local art store or do some searching online.
