I have got my prints, got my mounts online with backing boards. I have the correct tape to attach the print to the mount but what am I supposed to use to stick the backing board of the mount onto the front frame of the mount in order to sandwich the print between the two?

I bought some double sided tape from WH Smiths and stuck a few like that, but not long after the corners and edges started coming away from each other. Is it better to stick the backing to the front of the mount with glue? I have never done this before so I am not sure of the correct solution to this problem, can anybody help?

i used double sided tape on one side of my print, stuck it to the back, then pressed the frame/front mounting piece to hold it down and double sided tape around the edges to keep it there.

Its easier if the picture is a bit bigger than the actual hole in the front piece, just draw a frame on the back piece, its gonna be covered anyway, then you can position your print on there with no problems and stick the front piece on using the mthod above. thats how i did it anyway

hope that makes sense... lol

I use spray mount adhesive to stick the print to the backing board, and acid free double sided tape a couple of mm in from the edge to stick the mount to the backing. It`s always worked for me.

Spray mount is bloody expensive though if you have a lot to do.

The trouble with using tape to fix the photo, you don`t get the print absolute flat and bubble free. :)

i only needed them for a few weeks for uni interviews, i left them flat and they seemed fine, the ones without borders i used spray mounts, probably should have mentioned that too as an option, nvm haha

spray mount..and have a damp cloth handy to do the tidying up

I followed the instructions on this page
http://www.frames.uk.com/customer_information_mounts.htm
when i bought them (from that website). It suggested using double sided sticky tape to fix the backs onto the front of the mount. Now the corners are coming apart.
If i get some spray mount, but use the method of taping the photo at the top of the mount window as described in that webpage tutorial would the photo mount sprayed around the edges of the backing board and the window frame be enough to hold it all down? how long does that photo mount stuff take to dry and bond enough for the mount to be safely sealed? The double sided tape has not worked for me.

If you use the right double sided tape, you`ll never get it apart, it`s permanent. With regards to the spray mount you`ll have to read the instructions, they`re all different. :)

I would but I can`t remember which one I bought. I know it came from Rymans in Leeds, but I don`t know if you can buy online. There is one by Sellotape that`s good too and I know it`s available from Hobbycraft. You need acid free tape. Hope this helps. :)
