Moving away from the 5D3

Hi

A lot of my photography is now travel and landscape so I'm looking at lessening the load on my back but not sure which way to go. I'm looking at M4/3 or Fuji at the minute. The new Sony A7R looks really interesting but the lack of lenses makes it a no go at the minute.

I'll be coming from the 5D3 which I've always found poor at shadow detail with obvious banding in dark areas etc so it would be nice to have something which makes a better job of these things than the 5DMK3. I like to shoot a lot of low light cityscapes on a tripod so need a system that won't disappoint in this area.

I'm potentially looking at something like
Oly EM1, Panny 7-14, 12-35 F2.8, 35-100 F2.8, Fisheye
Fuji XT1, 18-55, 10-24, 55-200, Samyang Fisheye

It's all about lightening the load and looking less conspicuous when tramping around cities etc. I still need quality that I would be happy with though.

I'll be keeping my 7D and a few lenses for my aviation/motorsport shooting but I'll be parting company with
5D3, 8-15mm F4L fisheye, 17mm F4L TS&E, 24-70 F2.8 MK2, 70-200 F2.8 MK2

Any words of advice or should I just accept the weight and get on with it.

Shame the A7/r is out... I'm happy to use my Rokkor and Zuiko primes

Hi Alan

I really need a good wide angle in the 16mm area on full frame. It's also a bit disappointing that the new Zeiss 24-70mm zoom isn't getting very good reviews. The camera would have otherwise been perfect.

Sony A7R would be a sensible choice for load lightening without compromising much. If you could live with the electronic viewfinder, that would be what I would do.
