Moving photo files from a windows drive to a MacBook

We've moved from windows to MacBook today.

We have 2x 500gb Weston digital passports formatted to windows that are full of photos. Any recomendations how to transfer them to a Mac compatible external drive?

Mac can read the ntfs windows drive but cannot write to it without additional software or running a command in terminal.

However as you just want to copy the photo across, just connect both drives to the mac and copy and paste should do the trick.

You can write on ntfs too, if you write the following couple lines in the terminal

I moved all my images from a portagle drive( windows format) to my new iMac. I then formatted my empty portable drive to my iMac and made a copy of iphoto which now gives me a duplicate copy- i also have a copy on my original windows pc just now.

I have one drive in ex-Fat that can be read by both Mac & Widows
