Moving to a MKlll need a wide lens, help please

OK, I have a MKlll on the way, and have realised my Sigma 10-20 is going to be no more than a paperweight for me.
I have the 24-105L, but will need something to have a pop at landscapes, do you have any suggestions that aren't going to break the bank too much?

Want something cheap? How cheap?

Dunno how much a Sigma 12-24mm will be used but a Canon 20-35mm should be between £100-150. There's also a Cosina/Tamron 19-35mm that'll be even cheaper, they have their fans and I've seen some good images taken with them.

I have both of these. The 12-24mm is amazing.
 
Need to do the body justice, was thinking £500 or less.....
 
Used Siggy 12-24mm then. Othwise could look at Canon 17-40mm or 16-35mm which are more the equiv FoV of your 10-20mm or you could go for a prime or two but personally I wouldn't write off the older or cheaper options without looking into them. You may be surprised.
 
Assuming it is a 5D MkIII (not a 1D MkIII) the 17-40 f/4L would be an excellent choice and can be had for around that money second hand.

Only 1mm of a difference at the wide end.
 
Pretty poor towards the edges though, by some accounts.
 
I have had a look at samples from the 17-40, look pretty good, but difficult to tell on a laptop.
Would the 24-105L that I have do for a start, it's gonna be wider on the 5D3 than it is on my 7D?

Only you can tell that. 24mm (well more like 28mm in reality) is pretty wide, but you probably won't shoot interior with that for example.
 
Thanks for the replies, I guess then that IS is not really an issue for landscapes, as they are gonna be mostly taken on a tripod.
I did see a used 17-40 up for £495 but I think I can pick one up new for that.
