MPH Show - Best Lens

Hi All,

I'v just bought my tickets to MPH Show and Top Gear live at the NEC in November.

Obviously I am going to take my camera and my current lenses (see signature) but is there any other lenses that are maybe better suited to the job, i'm thinking that the 70-200 is maybe to big and my standard lens is temperamental with its autofocusing so not the most reliable.

I am looking into getting a new lens for general use, something similar to my 18-55. If there is any good suggestions I am prepared to hire 1 or 2 for the week which the show is on to test them out.

Thanks for reading.

Andy

I'd have guess something like that would be ideal, I'm exhibiting at the Classic Show at the NEC (runs same time as MPH there), and again at the Autosport/Pistonheads show in January, and I'll be looking forward to giving my Sigma 10-20 a good run out too (that I'm sat here at home eagerly awaiting delivery of any moment!).

I'm going to this but at Earls Court on the 7th. Wasn't going to take my camera but seeing as everyone else is!!

just had a look at the website
looks like great fun :) :) 8)

I would take my 2.8 glass for the show if I were going.
for general shots the kit lens will do the trick I would have thought.
for the floor show though you'll be running on high ISO with the 70-200 to capture much I would have thought

Also going to Earls Court on 7th Nov. Taking my lad who will be four on 9th Nov. Ticketing people told me that it's not recommended for kids under eight. Little do they know. He's absolutely obsessed with cars (and not in a toddler sense). Even more obsessed with Top Gear. Our TV is invariably on Dave or Dave +1. He will walk the show and be able to identify almost every car.

Last week, we were talking about the boot and bonnet on my car. I explained that the engine was under the bonnet. He then said not like a Porsche then because it has the engine at the back. Go figure - he's not even four yet.
