Through a scheme at work I have the chance to buy a fully legitimate version of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 for just £8.95 which includes the following software:

I’m currently running Vista and have MS Office 2003 and I’ve resisted the urge to upgrade to Office 2007 because I wasn’t keen on the layout of it. Has anyone got any experience of using Office 2010? Is it worth the upgrade from 2003? Would 2010 be easy to use if you’re used to using 2003?

Rob for that price I think 99% of 2003 and 2007 users would snap their hands off at that. Go for it I would.
 
upgraded from 2007 yesterday..

2003 to 2007 was a big leap in at least visual layout and menu options. 2007 to 2010 is again another albeit small jump, im still figuring out new bits to be honest. outlook seems to have had the most changes so far.

I'm not at all concerned about the cost of it, obviously I can cover £9. I'm more concerned about whether 2010 has a nice and easy user interface. I never got to grips with 2007 so I stayed with 2003. If this is another leap on from the one I didn't like, is it a good leap?
 
I'd go for it and give it a whirl.... and if you're able to order more than one copy.. Can I join the TP queue. lol :)

to be honest i never saw why people complained about the 2007 interface, once you got use to it it was a million times more intuitive.

2010 is very similar to 2007 in appearances really.

the conversations feature in outlook is excellent alone lol, print dialog boxes have gone theyre now basically a side menu that pops up. otherwise i really couldnt tell you ive noticed anything new over 2007.

Agreed, I really like 2007
 
go for it, I have office 97 at work, I actually installed the steaming pile that is open office because people were cross I was using notepad instead
 
For those of you wanting to jump on the bandwagon and get your own copy of 2010 for just £8.95 I'm afraid you are out of luck unless you work for the same company as me (which shall remain nameless). Apparently Microsoft will be monitoring the number of downloads of the software and the use of each licence key and it is strictly 1 per employee. Of course there are 100,000 employees in my company so the chances of all of them wanting a copy of this software for themselves is slim so if you know of someone else getting this offer then ask them if you can have their copy.
 
Rob, we may have the same employer- would the first part of your link to find said software start with 'sabs'

We get a very similar deal. Will be rolling out around 1500 copies later this quarter to the business as well.

Suprisingly few people actually take up these offers.

Me too. I'm also amazed that very few companies actually push this benefit. It's part of a range of benefits you get when you have an EA (Enterprise Agreement) with Microsoft. If you work for a company of 250 people or more, they may well have an EA so it's always worth asking your IT peeps if this benefit is available to you.
 
I've been running with the Beta version of Office 2010 a while, and it adds a few tweaks to office 2007, with the biggest benefit (for me), is the the better management and organisation of E-mails in Outloook.

Big upgrade from 2003 though, with some liking the new 'ribbon' menu bar and some hating it.
