Just discovered my 6D can do in camera multiple exposures (and there I was doing it the hard way). Anyways I have an issue with trying to enable it. It's greyed out and I can't work out how to fix it.

Thought I'd resurrect an old thread rather than start a new one.

My multiple exposure setting is greyed out and I can't figure out why. I've done all that's suggested in the manual re WB Bracketing being disabled etc but nothing seems to work!! It's doing my nut in a little bit tbh!!

Have you got it set to raw? Iirc it only works shooting JPEG?

Yes it's likely that you have the camera set to raw. It works in JPEG only so you need to set to JPEG. Once you've checked that I imagine it will work

I've tried that but makes no difference. The manual states it also works in Raw.

I thought HDR only worked with JPEG?

I was thinking one thing and writing something completely different.

I meant HDR works in JPEG [emoji3][emoji3]

You are correct, I've just tried mine and does work in either RAW or JPEG.

However mine isn't greyed out. I assume there is another setting that disables it but don't know what it is

Just had a quick google:

Looks like quite a few setting disable it e.g

  • If you set white balance bracketing, Multi Shot Noise Reduction, the HDR mode or if you shoot a movie, multiple exposure shooting cannot be set.
  • When Wi-Fi function is used, multiple exposure shooting cannot be set.
  • If you connect the camera to a computer or printer, multiple-exposure shooting is not possible.
