Strange events happening.
I have just started to re-name some of my old mp3 music tracks in various folders.

So i start off with Track 1 Track 2 etc etc, re-named a few, but before i can finish re-nameing the lot, all the re-named ones revert back to there original numbers..
I also performed the above on one small music folder and it just disappeared, done a computer search and its no where...:bang:

any ideas please....

You using itunes? Apple s/w is well known for wanting to take over the world (or your computer at least)...

if youre using itunes and youve set it to automatically manage your folders that may be your problem. its probably renamed the folder to match the new artist/album info.

personally i find that a pain in the arse and turn it off.

Thanks for the replies.
I don't have anything to do with itunes, most of my music files come from my CD collection with the odd one from youtube converter...

Still a mystery to me..

It might be whatever you use to play the music that's renaming them.

Have a wee look at your player settings.

I am using Windows media to play the mp3, all are placed in a normal folder, I open the folder, right click, re-name, place the name, all is ok, get through about half of the folder files, they then just go back to there original track number. On my first try the whole folder disapeared..... Wierd..

Is there anything that i need to check in Windows Media?.

Thanks
