Not an expert on portrait. But I like the framing, my only point would be the dog needs to be better lit on the right as i look at the picture.

only problem for me is the lack of connection between your brother and the puppy .......almost like "do i have to hold this dog" sorry but thats how it looks to me hth mike exposure is spot on.

Brilliant effort, but for me I'd have to sort out those highlights on the neck.(esp the triangle).
