My Canon 5d Mark 4 doesn't turn off automatically (auto turn off set to 1 min)

My Canon 5d Mark 4 doesn't turn off automatically even if I set auto turn to 1 min. I went through all the settings and tried everything.

I always have to turn off the camera otherwise I have a nice dead battery quickly.

Any suggestions?

I don't think the LCD at the top uses that much power, how quickly are we talking about? I never turn it off when i had it for a shoot in the day.

You can try the 3min or 10min mark to see.

Just to be clear, it doesn’t turn off so much as it goes to sleep.

I would try without the lens or with a different lens. A communication error between the body and lens can prevent the body from entering sleep mode.

Be sure to disable GPS if you won't be using the camera for a while. The default is for GPS to keep acquiring a signal, even after the main camera switch is turned off. This allows the camera to orient itself more quickly when you turn it back on, but the manual warns you that it drains the battery.
